Mouse Cottage sits high on a hillside, facing due south in the middle of the Strathtay golf course. This is no ordinary golf course as the land was originally part of the Tillipowry Estate. The land rolls gently, circled by bracken covered hills and woodland (vivid blue in May when the bluebells bloom) with the most delightful grove of deciduous trees just west of the cottage. Deer, pheasants, hares, partridges, bunnies and owls populate it.
Mouse Cottage is a short walk to the excellent local shop as well as the café/Chocolatier, the local hotel and the Inn, the local pub where you can sit outside by the spectacular river Tay.
Your bed and breakfast accommodation is a small suite accessed by a steep staircase (with hand rail). The suite consists of a little vestibule entrance tucked under the eaves. The vestibule leads to the bedroom, on the same level. The bedroom has the original coombed ceilings, with a window seat under the south facing window, which has lovely views over the garden. It is a lovely bright sunny room.
The very comfy bed can either be a king size or made up as two singles, using luxury White Company bedlinen. There is a clock radio and hot water bottles are available.
The sitting room is also accessed from the vestibule via two steps. It doubles as a little library so there is plenty to read and lots of natural daylight through roof windows. The window to the west looks over the golf course. There is also a TV with DVD player and tea/coffee making facilities and internet access.
In addition we have Mini Mouse: a stylish, contemporary, light studio space. The room is lined with tongue and groove, the floors are limed oak with underfloor heating. The comfy bed is king size with luxury White Company bedlinen and you also have their white fluffy towels in the bathroom.
The ingenious Elfin kitchen has a fridge with freezer compartment, a sink and drainer, two ring induction hob, a little combo oven/grill and microwave perfect for simple cooking and a dishwasher. There is a small fitted wardrobe with hanging space and shelves plus storage in drawers under the bed. With a television and internet access, it is the perfect space for two.
The bathroom is spacious with the most amazing shower. Shower gel, soap, hand/ body lotion are all supplied as are dressing gowns.
