Scottish Crannog Centre has a great schedule of events for all the family to enjoy.
Each year The Scottish Crannog Centre offers special events designed to stimulate interest from local residents as well as visitors. The events are linked or inspired by ancient traditions or based on discoveries underwater during crannog investigations in Loch Tay. They include experimental archaeology, music, ancient technologies and traditional crafts.

Celtic Spring - 8th-9th April
This Easter we will celebrate the abundance of Springtime, and the new life it brings. There will be extra hands-on activities with a Spring museum tour sharing the traditions of the season, and pottery making and decorating to take home, plus lots of hands on crafts and activities. The Crannog Kitchen at work, cooking up wild garlic bread for you to taste. Follow the Ostara Hare in a trail across the site to meet the ancient goddess of Spring, and receive a story and some flower seeds to plant in your garden.
On the Sunday we will be joined by Pitlochry Festival Theatre poets and storytellers as part of the Arts on the Tay Project, for some extra special workshops throughout the day.

Beltane Celebration 27th-29th May
Celebrate the ancient festival of Fire, Fertility and Renewal with the Crannog Community. It’s a time of growth, rebirth and optimism for the future as we host our last event on the old site, and look forward to moving to our new home at Dalerb.
Wander through the village under the branches of yellow bloom flowers, jump between the Beltane fires, have your face painted with the ash, make a candle to take the flame home, and try the Beltane bannock with homemade jam.
You can also join in with hands-on activities working with wool and clay, and join us in Beltane ceremonies to celebrate this special time of year.

Midsummer Music - 21st June
Come celebrate the Summer Solstice with the Crannog Community on the 21st June 2021. A live event; full of music, songs, stories and wonder, this is a must for any solstice calendar.

As You Like It - Shakespeare by the Loch - 12th July
The Three Inch Fools are dusting down their musical instruments and hitting the road with Shakespeare’s riotous comedy, "As you like it".

Touring the UK this summer, this Shakespearean classic will be getting the full Three Inch Fools treatment: expect fast-paced drama, endless costume changes, and much music-making along the way!
Bring your own blankets, camping chairs and cushions, and join us on our outdoor adventure on the beautiful shores of Loch Tay at Dalerb. Come prepared for the weather - the performance will continue come rain come shine!
Celtic Summer - 15th-16th July
Join the Crannog Centre for a summer celebration of ancient games, competitions, food and fun as the Crannog Community comes together to relax after a busy Spring building our new museum at Dalerb. Try your hand at ancient board games and compete to beat our Celtic Champions. Make flower crowns, listen to live music, and taste summer treats in the kitchen, alongside making crafts and getting hands-on with prehistory as we enjoy one of the most beautiful times of the year in Northern Perthshire.

The Celt's are Coming! 28th - 31st July
The Celts are Coming to the Crannog as the site is taken over by artists, crafts people and musicians!
The biggest event of the Crannog Calendar, Celts are Coming brings together some of the most talented and most inspiring crafts people from across the UK and beyond, to share their knowledge of the traditional crafts that have been a part of life for thousands of years. From spectacular metalworking to skilled woodworking, leather working, and spoon carving, to creating beautiful natural dyes and coloured thread ready to be woven onto our community loom, there is something for everyone. An event not to be missed, with lots of hands on activities, beautiful hand made products to buy, a friendly space to meet new people, and share stories and skills.
Tours run all day every 30 minutes from 10am - 4pm.
Rise and Shine Festival - 19th-20th Aug
The Rise and Shine festival is an event with hands on activity and open-air performances, hosted by The Scottish Crannog Centre and UNESCO chair for Refugee Integration through Language and Arts.
Meet craftspeople, artists and musicians from across Scotland and Internationally, to celebrate sustainable craft and lifestyles, in order to make sustainable and resilient how we live today.
The festival will focus on climate justice, the refugee crisis, and sustainable traditions, whilst bringing people together on the banks of the beautiful Loch Tay, to reconnect, reflect and respond, in a quiet space of craft and music. The day will run from 10am-6pm, with tours starting arriving every 45 minutes until 4pm.
